Moho Resources Ltd (ASX:MOH) has kicked off the hunt for nickel-copper-platinum group elements (PGE) along with rare earth elements (REE) at its 100%-owned Tambellup Project in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, with the first phase of reconnaissance underway.
Moho believes the 142-square-kilometre Tambellup Project, acquired through an agreement with Whistlepipe Exploration Pty Ltd, is under-explored for nickel, copper and PGE, but has also added rare earth elements (REE) to the mix.
The company’s interpretation of government geophysical data has revealed the presence of mafic-ultramafic intrusives under cover and potentially creating nickel-copper and PGE targets.

Maiden reconnaissance
Moho recently completed an airborne magnetic and radiometric survey across the project to refine targets for follow-up and drilling programs targeted for the third quarter.
The survey consisted of 1,641 line kilometres of gradiometer magnetics and radiometric data acquisition at 50-metre line spacing, which is much better than the existing aeromagnetic surveying undertaken at a 400-metre line spacing.
Some 148 soil samples collected along roadsides have been submitted to the laboratory for multi-geochemical analysis, including for base and precious metals and REE.
Assay results are expected in June.
Portfolio expansion
“The Tambellup project was originally targeted by the Whistlepipe consultancy for nickel, copper and PGEs but may also have potential for hard rock and clay-hosted REEs,” Moho Resources managing director Ralph Winter said.
“Tambellup offers the opportunity for Moho to expand its already exciting critical minerals portfolio.”
Moho plans to engage with private landowners and occupiers for land access next.
The company is also actively exploring for nickel, PGEs, REE, lithium and gold at Silver Swan North, Burracoppin, Peak Charles and Manjimup in WA and Empress Springs in Queensland.
