Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 5.64% or 1.770 points to trade at 33.140 at the close. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) added 4.87% or 0.83 points to end at 17.89 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 4.71% or 4.630 points to 102.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 6.89% or 32.530 points to trade at 439.890 in late trade. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 4.26% or 2.440 points to end at 54.890 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) shed 2.80% or 1.440 points to 49.910.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 97 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.30 to $1228.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 5.70% or 2.47 to hit $45.79 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $46.96 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.08% to 20.2583, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 21.7245.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 100.20.
