Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 2.86% or 6.110 points to trade at 219.990 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 2.53% or 0.860 points to end at 34.800 and Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) was up 2.03% or 0.200 points to 10.060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 8.70% or 0.400 points to trade at 4.200 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 2.28% or 2.190 points to end at 93.790 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) shed 2.19% or 1.130 points to 50.380.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 56 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.87% or 11.00 to $1268.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.07% or 0.41 to hit $37.88 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.29% or 0.94 to trade at $40.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.45% to 17.8415, while EUR/MXN rose 2.04% to 19.9394.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.00% at 96.22.
