Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 2.95% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.440 at the close. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 1.91% or 1.930 points to end at 102.910 and Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) was up 1.77% or 2.590 points to 148.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which lost 2.06% or 2.020 points to trade at 96.070 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) declined 2.03% or 2.000 points to end at 96.570 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) shed 1.65% or 0.730 points to 43.440.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 113 to 53 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.39% or 4.80 to $1247.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.30% or 1.12 to hit $49.74 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.81% or 0.90 to trade at $50.54 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.29% to 18.6471, while EUR/MXN rose 0.23% to 21.1830.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 94.00.
