Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 1.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.32% or 14.930 points to trade at 464.050 at the close. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 3.07% or 3.330 points to end at 111.810 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 3.04% or 1.17 points to 39.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 2.45% or 0.620 points to trade at 24.710 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.40% or 1.080 points to end at 43.900 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) shed 1.99% or 0.640 points to 31.480.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 38 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.46% or 19.25 to $1337.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.47% or 1.53 to hit $45.58 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.57% or 1.18 to trade at $47.06 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.38% to 19.7322, while EUR/MXN fell 0.11% to 22.0668.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 95.51.
