Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 2.05% or 0.830 points to trade at 41.330 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) added 2.59% or 2.410 points to end at 95.410 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.33% or 1.010 points to 44.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 3.18% or 14.930 points to trade at 454.150 in late trade. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) declined 1.90% or 0.210 points to end at 10.870 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) shed 1.58% or 0.500 points to 31.220.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 64 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.44% or 6.05 to $1368.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $45.24 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.24 to trade at $46.64 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.65% to 18.5210, while EUR/MXN fell 1.73% to 20.4736.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 96.31.
