Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 5.51% or 1.400 points to trade at 26.830 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 2.96% or 1.010 points to end at 35.110 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 1.67% or 0.710 points to 43.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 3.39% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.280 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 1.00% or 2.740 points to end at 271.600 and America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) shed 0.91% or 0.100 points to 10.830.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 60 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.57% or 7.85 to $1364.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.10% or 1.62 to hit $41.13 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.88% or 1.62 to trade at $43.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.14% to 18.8925, while EUR/MXN fell 0.87% to 21.0660.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 95.49.
