Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB lost 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MILAN:US), which rose 1.28% or 0.028 points to trade at 2.222 at the close. Meanwhile, Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) added 1.05% or 0.09 points to end at 8.18 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) was up 0.97% or 0.85 points to 88.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI), which fell 1.58% or 0.115 points to trade at 7.175 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) declined 1.49% or 0.100 points to end at 6.600 and Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI) was down 1.42% or 0.180 points to 12.520.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 236 to 204 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.83% or 0.35 to $42.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.74% or 0.36 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.21% or 2.30 to trade at $1113.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1124, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7113.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 96.52.
