MILAN, Nov 24 (Reuters) - Australia's Macquarie is looking at the idea of syndicating the purchase of a stake in fast broadband company Open Fiber from Italian utility Enel ENEI.MI , sources said on Tuesday.
Enel, which jointly controls Open Fiber with state lender CDP, received a binding bid from Macquarie in September for all or part of its 50% stake.
The sources said Macquarie had written a letter to Enel asking for permission to share its evaluation model with potential co-investors.
It did not ask for access to the data room for the possible co-investors, the sources added.
Macquarie and Enel declined to comment.
