Latin Resources fields exceptional lithium results at Salinas’ Planalto prospect in Brazil

High-grade drill results have confirmed the scale of the Planalto prospect at the Salinas Lithium Project in Brazil following a recent foray by 100% owner Latin Resources Ltd (ASX:LRS, OTC:LRSRF).

Wide, high-grade lithium core

These latest results confirm a wide, thick mineralisation core at Planalto and realise the potential for increased tonnage at the Salinas Project.

This high-grade zone remains open along strike on both directions, down dip as well as up plunge to the south-west, where the mineralised zone is interpreted to extend closer to surface.

“The Planalto Prospect shows very similar mineralisation characteristics to our world-class tier one Colina Deposit,” vice president of operations – Americas Tony Greenaway said.

“While the stacked pegmatite lenses at Planalto show a shallower dip to those at Colina, the coarse-grained spodumene-only mineralisation is consistent with what we see at Colina.

“The latest drilling has highlighted an up-dip trend to the high-grade core of mineralisation which will now become the focus of additional drilling.

“We have scheduled an initial MRE for Planalto in this current September quarter of 2024, which will be based on all of the available drilling and will commence as soon as we have received all of the outstanding assay results from the laboratory.”

Highlights

Some key results include:

  • 16.05 metres at 2.18% Li2O from 293.29 metres, including 9.22 metres at 2.54% from 293.29 metres and 3.59 metres at 2.52% from 305.14 metres;
  • 13.83 metres at 1.09% Li2O from 293.17 metres;
  • 6.22 metres at 1.83% Li2O from 230.38 metres;
  • 5.41 metres at 1.96% Li2O from 280 metres;
  • 12.59 metres at 1.65% Li2O from 260.41 metres including 5.79 metres at 2.29% from 260.41 metres;
  • 4.25 metres at 2.57% Li2O from 298.01 metres; and
  • 6.63 metres at 1.86% Li2O from 401.37 metres.

The company will go in with additional diamond drilling to test the up-plunge extension of this emerging priority target area.

A preliminary mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the Planalto Prospect is scheduled for the current quarter once all assay results are back from the laboratory.

The additional Planalto MRE combined with the Colina MRE will confirm that the Salinas Lithium Project continues to grow to world-class tier 1 standards.
