Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Inpex Corp. (T:1605), which rose 4.44% or 42.5 points to trade at 999.3 at the close. SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. (T:9412) added 2.86% or 12.0 points to end at 432.0 and Idemitsu Kosan Co Ltd (T:5019) was up 2.37% or 75.0 points to 3240.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. (T:1925), which lost 5.75% or 194.0 points to trade at 3182.0 in late trade. CyberAgent Inc (T:4751) declined 4.47% or 185.0 points to end at 3955.0 and Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (T:4568) shed 4.14% or 250.0 points to 5789.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2318 to 1173 and 211 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 15.25 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.14% or 0.08 to $57.15 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.16% or 0.10 to hit $64.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 4.05 to trade at $1392.85 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.17% to 107.47, while EUR/JPY rose 0.32% to 121.53.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 96.088.
