Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.77% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were A2A (MI:A2), which rose 0.07% or 0.001 points to trade at 1.499 at the close. Enel (MI:ENEI) fell 0.13% or 0.006 points to end at 4.742 and Snam SpA (MI:SRG) was down 0.46% or 0.018 points to 3.912 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which lost 5.13% or 1.51 points to trade at 27.94 in late trade. Mediaset SpA (MI:MS) declined 5.12% or 0.133 points to end at 2.467 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) shed 4.53% or 0.1760 points to 3.7090.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 284 to 71 and 24 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.62% or 0.85 to $51.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.20% or 0.74 to hit $60.93 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1249.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1374, while EUR/GBP rose 1.13% to 0.9044.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 97.012.
