Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Campari (MI:CPRI), which rose 2.10% or 0.17 points to trade at 8.53 at the close. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 1.36% or 0.0140 points to end at 1.0460 and Italcementi (MI:ITAI) was up 0.79% or 0.080 points to 10.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tod'S (MI:TOD), which lost 7.22% or 5.30 points to trade at 68.10 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) declined 5.98% or 0.0380 points to end at 0.5970 and Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) shed 4.62% or 0.0345 points to 0.7125.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 257 to 142 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.29% or 0.85 to $36.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.30% or 0.91 to hit $38.62 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.21% or 15.10 to trade at $1230.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1111, while EUR/GBP rose 1.12% to 0.7853.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 96.65.
