Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.88% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 1.30% or 0.042 points to trade at 3.276 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 1.24% or 0.16 points to end at 13.05 and Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) was up 0.87% or 0.11 points to 12.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI), which lost 2.90% or 0.4800 points to trade at 16.0500 in late trade. Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) declined 1.96% or 0.200 points to end at 10.020 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) shed 1.75% or 0.39 points to 21.93.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 232 to 132 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.61% or 0.35 to $57.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.58% or 0.37 to hit $64.17 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1268.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1881, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 92.87.
