Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 3.61% or 0.1730 points to trade at 4.9630 at the close. Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) added 1.15% or 0.049 points to end at 4.300 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was up 1.01% or 0.14 points to 14.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which lost 2.45% or 0.120 points to trade at 4.773 in late trade. Prysmian (MI:PRY) declined 2.37% or 0.51 points to end at 21.01 and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (MI:ISP) shed 2.10% or 0.051 points to 2.397.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 227 to 145 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.15% or 1.52 to $72.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.74% or 2.14 to hit $80.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1205.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1771, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8970.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.68.
