Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.15% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 12.20% or 0.0473 points to trade at 0.4350 at the close. Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) added 4.32% or 0.2650 points to end at 6.4050 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) was up 4.21% or 0.1440 points to 3.5620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tod'S (MI:TOD), which lost 2.37% or 1.45 points to trade at 59.70 in late trade. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) declined 1.40% or 0.20 points to end at 14.06 and Campari (MI:CPRI) shed 1.38% or 0.12 points to 8.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 233 to 177 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.88% or 0.40 to $45.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.02% or 0.48 to hit $47.41 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.19% or 14.85 to trade at $1265.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.7764.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 93.88.
