Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 3.56% or 0.52 points to trade at 15.11 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 2.26% or 0.450 points to end at 20.360 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was up 1.78% or 0.308 points to 17.578 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset (MI:MS), which lost 2.03% or 0.063 points to trade at 3.033 in late trade. Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) declined 1.68% or 0.38 points to end at 22.30 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) shed 1.59% or 0.048 points to 2.980.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 197 to 137 and 41 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.38% or 1.51 to $65.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 2.49% or 1.68 to hit $69.10 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.91% or 12.00 to trade at $1323.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.2258, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8716.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 89.81.
