Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Healthcare and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Recordati (MI:RECI), which rose 2.89% or 0.84 points to trade at 29.90 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.39% or 0.34 points to end at 14.58 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) was up 1.20% or 0.07 points to 6.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prysmian (MI:PRY), which lost 1.85% or 0.49 points to trade at 26.05 in late trade. Italgas SpA (MI:IG) declined 1.55% or 0.071 points to end at 4.517 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) shed 1.35% or 0.0540 points to 3.9350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 198 to 161 and 24 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.58% or 0.37 to $63.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.40% or 0.27 to hit $67.31 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 2.70 to trade at $1333.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.2304, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 89.83.
