Markit releases June PMI services (0745 GMT).

Insurers' association ANIA holds annual assembly in Rome, with Chairwoman Maria Bianca Farina (0830 GMT).

At a meeting in Frankfurt last Thursday the ECB called on Carige's CEO Paolo Fiorentino to consider a merger to find a partner, possibly earlier than 2019, and stabilise governance, Il Messaggero said. The best solution on the merger front, according to the paper, would be a tie up with Cariparma or UBI Banca.

Lazio regional administrative court holds hearing on Vivendi's VIV.PA appeal against decision by Italy's communications regulator watchdog AGCOM asking French group to cut stake in Telecom Italia (TIM) or Mediaset .

Fitch Ratings has affirmed Assicurazioni Generali and core subsidiaries' Insurer Financial Strength (IFS) Ratings at 'A-' (Strong). The agency has also affirmed Generali's Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at 'A-'. The Outlooks are Stable. TISCALI TIS.MI

CEO Riccardo Ruggiero could be on the point of leaving the company amid talks with the lending banks over Tiscali's new business plan, Il Messaggero said.

RISANAMENTO RN.MI

The real estate group said on Tuesday it has allowed Australia's Lendlease LLC.AX to postpone to July 27 the deadline to exercise the option to buy the so-called 'Complesso Sky' development area. Risanamento has also agreed to postpone to July 27 the deadline to exercise a call option on a stake owned by Milan Santa Giulia in a joint venture with one unit of the Australian group.
