Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Communication, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 added 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which rose 4.73% or 58 points to trade at 1283 at the close. Perrigo (TA:PRGO) added 4.17% or 910 points to end at 22720 and Elbit Systems Ltd (TA:ESLT) was up 2.76% or 1260 points to 46900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Leumi (TA:LUMI), which lost 1.15% or 27 points to trade at 2317 in late trade. Israel Discount Bank Ltd (TA:DSCT) declined 1.10% or 14.0 points to end at 1256.0 and Poalim (TA:POLI) shed 0.94% or 23 points to 2422.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 198 to 178 and 35 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.35% or 1.20 to $52.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.43% or 0.86 to hit $60.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.45 to trade at $1248.95 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.22% to 3.7511, while EUR/ILS fell 0.11% to 4.2470.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 97.393.
