Investing.com – Chasing financial stocks higher, Huatai Securities surged Monday morning in Hong Kong.
An integrated securities group listed in both Shanghai and Hong Kong, Huatai (HK:6886) saw its Hong Kong shares go up by 3.71% Monday morning to HK$13.42. The company’s shares in Shanghai (SHA:601688) rose 5.06% to CNY17.65.
Brokerages like Huatai led the significant gains for Chinese markets. Besides Huatai, other brokerages also surged on the news that the Shanghai stock market had finished developing a draft on how to set up a new board for innovative technology companies.
Everbright Securities (HK:6178) rose 2.5% in Hong Kong to HKD7.78 but the brokerage’s shares in Shanghai (SHA:601788) surged 5.51% to CNY10.53.
