Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Retail and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 8.27% or 0.055 points to trade at 0.720 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 5.77% or 0.030 points to end at 0.550 and Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) was up 4.70% or 0.1100 points to 2.4500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 8.70% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.1470 in late trade. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 6.29% or 0.009 points to end at 0.134 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 4.07% or 0.050 points to 1.180.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 35 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.75 to $1348.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.85% or 1.75 to hit $47.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 3.65% or 1.75 to trade at $49.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1282, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.8469.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 94.76.
