Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 2.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iaso (AT:IASr), which rose 4.13% or 0.045 points to trade at 1.135 at the close. European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) added 3.53% or 0.120 points to end at 3.540 and K.L.M. (AT:KLUr) was up 2.52% or 0.014 points to 0.570 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 5.80% or 0.0024 points to trade at 0.0390 in late trade. Public Power (AT:DEHr) declined 5.48% or 0.08 points to end at 1.38 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) shed 4.56% or 0.205 points to 4.290.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 88 to 26 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.39% or 4.90 to $1246.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.82% or 0.42 to hit $51.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $60.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1335, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8995.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 96.670.
