Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Retail, Banking and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 2.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 5.00% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.1925 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 2.87% or 0.026 points to end at 0.933 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 2.49% or 0.010 points to 0.412 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 13.07% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.133 in late trade. Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) declined 10.51% or 0.84 points to end at 7.15 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 7.59% or 0.024 points to 0.292.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.86% or 24.50 to $1293.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $70.86 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.64 to trade at $78.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1856, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 93.09.
