Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 1.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 3.37% or 0.0014 points to trade at 0.0444 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 3.13% or 0.400 points to end at 13.200 and Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) was up 2.33% or 0.60 points to 26.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 3.97% or 0.038 points to trade at 0.918 in late trade. Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT:EXCr) declined 3.90% or 0.16 points to end at 3.94 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr) shed 3.57% or 0.040 points to 1.080.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 23 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1251.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.92% or 1.01 to hit $51.60 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.23% or 0.76 to trade at $60.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1366, while EUR/GBP rose 1.36% to 0.9065.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 97.093.
