Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Retail and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Jumbo SA (AT:BABr), which rose 2.81% or 0.370 points to trade at 13.530 at the close. Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) added 2.33% or 0.220 points to end at 9.670 and Loulis Mills (AT:LOUr) was up 1.87% or 0.04 points to 2.18 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 17.84% or 0.0215 points to trade at 0.0990 in late trade. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 5.49% or 0.057 points to end at 0.981 and Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) shed 4.76% or 0.010 points to 0.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 42 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.48% or 6.10 to $1262.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.26% or 0.86 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $74.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1667, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 94.20.
