Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 8.94% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.340 at the close. Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) added 8.61% or 0.130 points to end at 1.640 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr) was up 7.35% or 0.075 points to 1.095 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Karatzi (AT:KRTr), which lost 5.38% or 0.350 points to trade at 6.150 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 3.23% or 0.040 points to end at 1.200 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) shed 2.76% or 0.002 points to 0.070.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 42 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.16% or 2.05 to $1289.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $52.41 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.16 to trade at $61.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1523, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.9021.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.960.
