Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr), which rose 4.00% or 0.0600 points to trade at 1.5600 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 3.86% or 0.013 points to end at 0.363 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT:INCr) was up 3.83% or 0.040 points to 1.085 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which lost 6.00% or 0.0360 points to trade at 0.5640 in late trade. Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) declined 3.40% or 0.280 points to end at 7.950 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) shed 2.48% or 0.0012 points to 0.0480.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 49 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.34% or 4.25 to $1243.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $52.91 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.36 to trade at $62.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1357, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 96.782.
