Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr), which rose 4.23% or 0.550 points to trade at 13.550 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 2.96% or 0.400 points to end at 13.900 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 2.78% or 0.150 points to 5.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 10.13% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.0710 in late trade. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 5.35% or 0.038 points to end at 0.672 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 4.48% or 0.0300 points to 0.6400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 46 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 1.90 to $1204.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.73% or 1.89 to hit $71.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.09% or 0.86 to trade at $79.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1645, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 94.75.
