Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Banking and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 2.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Gek Terna (AT:HRMr), which rose 7.16% or 0.350 points to trade at 5.240 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 7.12% or 0.186 points to end at 2.800 and AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) was up 6.80% or 0.140 points to 2.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which lost 1.59% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.240 in late trade. Korres (AT:KRRr) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 5.080 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.155.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 95 to 18 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.86% or 11.50 to $1328.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.28% or 0.18 to hit $63.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.33 to trade at $68.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.2229, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 90.21.
