Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 2.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA), which rose 7.51% or 0.130 points to trade at 1.860 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 7.13% or 0.057 points to end at 0.857 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was up 5.99% or 0.16 points to 2.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which lost 1.46% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.350 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 1.40% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.2120 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) shed 0.42% or 0.004 points to 0.950.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 16 and 9 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.70 to $1354.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.91% or 0.55 to hit $60.05 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 0.89 to trade at $63.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.2478, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 88.71.
