Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.61% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 9.29% or 0.0865 points to trade at 1.0180 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 7.74% or 0.240 points to end at 3.340 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 6.12% or 0.126 points to 2.186 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 16.67% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.025 in late trade. Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) declined 5.11% or 0.84 points to end at 15.60 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) shed 2.83% or 0.026 points to 0.892.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 45 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.44% or 5.80 to $1323.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $68.11 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $74.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.2112, while EUR/GBP rose 0.97% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 91.39.
