Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 6.38% or 0.148 points to trade at 2.466 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) added 4.85% or 0.08 points to end at 1.73 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 4.68% or 0.078 points to 1.746 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reds (AT:CAMr), which lost 3.61% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 2.29% or 0.030 points to end at 1.280 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) shed 1.97% or 0.0018 points to 0.0896.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 30 and 9 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.26% or 3.20 to $1216.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $68.66 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.08 to trade at $76.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1674, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.9060.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 94.73.
