Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 6.84% or 0.112 points to trade at 1.750 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 3.91% or 0.110 points to end at 2.920 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was up 3.62% or 0.025 points to 0.715 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reds (AT:CAMr), which lost 3.91% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.860 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 2.54% or 0.60 points to end at 23.00 and Intercontinental International Real Estate Investment Company SA (AT:ICIr) shed 1.79% or 0.100 points to 5.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 27 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.16% or 2.10 to $1299.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.08% or 0.05 to hit $64.80 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.30% or 0.98 to trade at $74.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1678, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 94.09.
