Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Retail, Technology and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 7.10% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.181 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 4.84% or 0.3000 points to end at 6.7000 and AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) was up 4.44% or 0.080 points to 1.870 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Public Power (AT:DEHr), which lost 2.32% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.95 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 1.61% or 0.40 points to end at 24.40 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) shed 1.43% or 0.050 points to 3.450.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 26 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.36% or 4.80 to $1324.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.88% or 1.19 to hit $62.20 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.73 to trade at $66.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.2297, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 89.97.
