Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Technology and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 11.45% or 0.190 points to trade at 1.850 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 7.50% or 0.076 points to end at 1.090 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was up 5.86% or 0.038 points to 0.687 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr), which lost 2.23% or 0.035 points to trade at 1.535 in late trade. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 1.68% or 0.200 points to end at 11.800 and European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) shed 1.64% or 0.060 points to 3.580.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 36 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.60% or 7.80 to $1309.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.56 to trade at $76.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.24% to 1.1645, while EUR/GBP fell 0.88% to 0.8738.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.89% at 94.39.
