Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr), which rose 3.14% or 0.110 points to trade at 3.610 at the close. Elastron SA (AT:ELSRr) added 2.99% or 0.0400 points to end at 1.3800 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 2.69% or 0.0225 points to 0.8585 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 7.05% or 0.0074 points to trade at 0.0976 in late trade. Reds (AT:CAMr) declined 4.17% or 0.035 points to end at 0.840 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 3.16% or 0.058 points to 1.780.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 42 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1222.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.99% or 1.37 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.75 to trade at $75.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1713, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8912.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 94.07.
