Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Banking and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which rose 3.61% or 0.07 points to trade at 2.01 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 3.00% or 0.060 points to end at 2.060 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was up 2.90% or 0.400 points to 14.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 5.86% or 0.0075 points to trade at 0.1205 in late trade. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 3.59% or 0.070 points to end at 1.880 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) shed 3.26% or 0.019 points to 0.564.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 2.70 to $1268.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $68.53 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 1.12 to trade at $74.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1685, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.07.
