Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Household, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Reds (AT:CAMr), which rose 5.11% or 0.045 points to trade at 0.925 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 3.03% or 0.013 points to end at 0.442 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 2.61% or 0.080 points to 3.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 4.07% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1180 in late trade. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 4.00% or 0.060 points to end at 1.440 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) shed 3.12% or 0.003 points to 0.106.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 39 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.51% or 6.40 to $1262.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $73.78 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.40% or 1.08 to trade at $78.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1749, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.81.
