Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.24% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 7.14% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.2200 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 6.99% or 0.130 points to end at 1.990 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 5.30% or 0.015 points to 0.298 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr), which lost 2.04% or 0.035 points to trade at 1.680 in late trade. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 0.99% or 0.012 points to end at 1.204 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 0.84% or 0.030 points to 3.560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 34 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.63% or 8.30 to $1312.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.62% or 0.38 to hit $62.11 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.14 to trade at $67.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1926, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8822.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 92.28.
