Galileo Mining Ltd (ASX:GAL) continues to raise the prospects of the Callisto polymetallic discovery, unveiling further high-grade palladium mineralisation from the ongoing campaign at its 100%-owned Norseman project in Western Australia.
Two rigs - one RC and one diamond - are continuing to drill at the Callisto discovery, where 8,600 metres of RC drilling and 1,400 metres of diamond drilling of the current programs have been completed.
Mineralisation is open along strike and down dip to the east, where diamond drilling is progressing.
Some of the significant new shallow intersections include:
- 30 metres at 2.08 g/t 3E (1.69 g/t palladium, 0.30 g/t platinum, 0.09 g/t gold), 0.37% copper and 0.34% nickel from 149 metres including 6 metres at 3.13 g/t 3E (2.54 g/t palladium, 0.44 g/t platinum, 0.14 g/t gold), 0.63% copper and 0.51% nickel from 171 metres;
- 30 metres at 1.88 g/t 3E (1.55 g/t palladium, 0.25 g/t platinum, 0.08 g/t gold), 0.32% copper and 0.32% nickel from 152 metres;
- 21 metres at 1.41 g/t 3E (1.15 g/t palladium, 0.20 g/t platinum, 0.06 g/t gold), 0.22% copper and 0.26% nickel from 138 metres;
- 27 metres at 1.21 g/t 3E (1.01 g/t palladium, 0.16 g/t platinum, 0.04 g/t gold), 0.18% copper and 0.23% nickel from 191 metres; and
- 8 metres at 1.39 g/t 3E (1.15 g/t palladium, 0.20 g/t platinum, 0.03 g/t gold), 0.09% copper and 0.23% nickel from 154 metres.

Tremendous opportunity
Galileo managing director Brad Underwood said: “Today’s results again confirm the extensive nature of palladium and associated metals at the Callisto discovery. Assay results from a further four drill holes each returned consistent palladium grades greater than 20-metre thickness with every palladium zone accompanied by platinum, gold, copper and nickel.
“We are also seeing copper and nickel zones in NRC299 above 0.6% and 0.5% respectively. This is a great sign for the potential development of even higher-grade zones, particularly where we have previously encountered massive sulphides.
"New mineral discoveries present a tremendous opportunity in the early stages of exploration and we believe Callisto is no exception.
“Drilling will provide us the data we need to understand the mineralisation and to trace out any high-grade zones along strike and at depth. We have a lot to learn about the overall mineralised system and the opportunities that may present themselves as we continue with our large-scale drill campaigns.”
