Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.20%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which rose 3.57% or 13.10 points to trade at 380.00 at the close. Renault SA (PA:RENA) added 3.02% or 2.49 points to end at 85.07 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) was up 2.96% or 6.95 points to 241.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which lost 1.22% or 1.02 points to trade at 82.52 in late trade. Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 0.04% or 0.005 points to end at 14.005 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) gained 0.05% or 0.05 points to 109.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet (PA:ERMT) which rose 6.43% to 112.60, Neopost (PA:NPOS) which was up 3.59% to settle at 23.10 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) which gained 3.57% to close at 380.00.
The worst performers were SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 11.18% to 11.44 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which lost 3.55% to settle at 10.190 and Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which was down 1.48% to 30.70 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 447 to 159 and 86 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 5.01% to 26.44.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.86% or 11.30 to $1327.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.27% or 0.75 to hit $59.95 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.55 to trade at $63.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.2269, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 90.17.
