Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.74%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which rose 5.21% or 1.00 points to trade at 20.28 at the close. Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) added 2.54% or 0.45 points to end at 18.18 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 2.50% or 0.560 points to 23.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which lost 1.80% or 0.30 points to trade at 16.64 in late trade. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) declined 1.31% or 1.50 points to end at 113.30 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 1.17% or 2.50 points to 211.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) which rose 5.21% to 20.28, Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which was up 2.54% to settle at 18.18 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which gained 2.50% to close at 23.000.
The worst performers were Gemalto (AS:GTO) which was down 5.47% to 42.91 in late trade, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) which lost 1.80% to settle at 16.64 and Klepierre (PA:LOIM) which was down 1.37% to 33.38 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 352 to 230 and 90 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 8.29% to 13.51.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 6.68 to $1328.88 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $47.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.22 to trade at $52.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1877, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.9160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.69.
