Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.24%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale (PA:SOGN), which rose 2.13% or 0.99 points to trade at 47.75 at the close. Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 2.02% or 0.250 points to end at 12.645 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was up 1.76% or 1.07 points to 61.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which lost 1.91% or 4.15 points to trade at 213.25 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 1.83% or 0.147 points to end at 7.888 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 1.40% or 1.55 points to 109.45.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexans (PA:NEXS) which rose 4.31% to 49.03, Numericable SFR SA (PA:SFRGR) which was up 4.09% to settle at 29.250 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which gained 4.02% to close at 29.220.
The worst performers were Lagardere S.C.A. (PA:LAGA) which was down 2.72% to 26.11 in late trade, Amundi SA (PA:AMUN) which lost 2.48% to settle at 54.95 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) which was down 1.91% to 213.25 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 342 to 272 and 107 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 584.38% to 2.94.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.26% or 3.15 to $1200.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.06% or 0.52 to hit $48.76 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.11% or 0.58 to trade at $51.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.88% to 1.0669, while EUR/GBP rose 0.91% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 101.42.
