Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.24%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP), which rose 3.27% or 3.55 points to trade at 111.95 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 2.23% or 0.350 points to end at 16.020 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was up 2.11% or 1.41 points to 68.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR), which lost 2.00% or 0.248 points to trade at 12.138 in late trade. Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) declined 1.81% or 0.42 points to end at 22.81 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) shed 1.80% or 0.67 points to 36.48.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Trigano (PA:TRIA) which rose 5.84% to 99.70, Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which was up 4.10% to settle at 116.80 and Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which gained 3.52% to close at 61.800.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 3.99% to 8.614 in late trade, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which lost 3.58% to settle at 37.760 and Iliad (PA:ILD) which was down 3.16% to 108.95 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 312 to 269 and 89 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.24% to 13.22.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.60 to $1193.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.02% or 1.48 to hit $74.73 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 1.60 to trade at $84.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1574, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.94.
