Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.13% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 4.72% or 0.372 points to trade at 8.260 at the close. Klepierre (PA:LOIM) added 1.97% or 0.68 points to end at 35.22 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was up 1.81% or 1.53 points to 86.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP), which lost 1.10% or 0.68 points to trade at 61.18 in late trade. Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) declined 1.03% or 0.130 points to end at 12.515 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) shed 0.79% or 0.30 points to 37.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which rose 13.38% to 33.130, Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which was up 7.29% to settle at 11.780 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which gained 4.72% to close at 8.260.
The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 3.55% to 6.5200 in late trade, Amundi SA (PA:AMUN) which lost 2.64% to settle at 53.50 and Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which was down 2.42% to 7.69 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 316 to 291 and 107 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.66% to 3.01.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.17% or 2.05 to $1203.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.39% or 0.19 to hit $48.30 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.10 to trade at $51.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0665, while EUR/GBP fell 0.74% to 0.8716.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.14.
