Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB), which rose 1.72% or 0.54 points to trade at 31.92 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 1.48% or 0.280 points to end at 19.250 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 1.43% or 1.62 points to 114.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which lost 0.93% or 1.36 points to trade at 144.64 in late trade. Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) declined 0.92% or 0.78 points to end at 84.04 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) shed 0.84% or 0.85 points to 100.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Spie SA (PA:SPIE) which rose 8.60% to 15.280, Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which was up 5.82% to settle at 18.54 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 4.76% to close at 1.627.
The worst performers were Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:SOPR) which was down 2.62% to 104.00 in late trade, Rothschild & Co SCA (PA:ROTH) which lost 2.11% to settle at 30.150 and Eutelsat Communications SA (PA:ETL) which was down 1.77% to 16.66 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 293 to 265 and 106 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.26% to 13.19.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.72% or 9.25 to $1300.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.25% or 0.14 to hit $56.93 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.11 to trade at $66.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1300, while EUR/GBP rose 1.05% to 0.8640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 96.885.
