Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.14% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 7.43% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.289 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 5.63% or 0.080 points to end at 1.500 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) was up 4.56% or 0.180 points to 4.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which lost 4.70% or 1.01 points to trade at 20.50 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 3.08% or 0.004 points to end at 0.126 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 2.78% or 0.005 points to 0.175.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 44 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.81% or 9.86 to $1227.16 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.67% or 0.31 to hit $46.39 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.35 to trade at $48.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1450, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.8753.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 95.05.
