Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 2.20% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were DNA Oyj (HE:DNAO), which rose 3.22% or 0.5900 points to trade at 18.9300 at the close. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) added 1.95% or 0.69 points to end at 36.09 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was up 1.65% or 0.065 points to 4.001 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which lost 6.33% or 0.980 points to trade at 14.510 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 5.76% or 0.465 points to end at 7.610 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) shed 4.94% or 1.60 points to 30.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 118 to 30 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.81% or 1.54 to $83.46 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.13% or 1.60 to hit $73.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 0.90 to trade at $1192.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1539, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8736.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 95.09.
