Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 1.35% or 1.08 points to trade at 81.00 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) added 0.81% or 0.21 points to end at 26.01 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) was up 0.42% or 0.11 points to 26.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which lost 1.93% or 0.76 points to trade at 38.54 in late trade. DNA Oyj (HE:DNAO) declined 1.61% or 0.3000 points to end at 18.3900 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) shed 1.49% or 0.30 points to 19.84.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 71 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 1.86% or 1.14 to $62.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.87% or 1.53 to hit $54.84 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1310.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1420, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8744.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.597.
